Mike McDerment is the co-founder and CEO of FreshBooks, cloud-based accounting software that is used by 160 countries around the world and is currently ranked second in America.

Mike spent three and a half years growing FreshBooks from his parents’ basement. Outside of FreshBooks, Mike is a dad, a husband, a son and a brother. He is somebody who loves the outdoors. 

In this episode, he talks about the different roles of a CEO and its ambiguity around the role. 

Mike shares the leadership challenges that he had to overcome that became part of his development path in the earlier days.

He also discusses his knowledge on developing and growing as an effective business leader.
